Jumo bhisti short story written by Dhumketu Summary. A friendship between man and animal.

Jumo Bhisti
A story of a friendship beetween man and animal

     Jumo bhisti lived in Anandpur village in a small hut . He was a poor man but he had seen days the golden to broken dishes. He 
Passed from all hot and cold side of life. He was born in a wealthy family and cared by his parents. When he was 10 years old ,he went to marry sitting on elephant. On those days he kept one pet animal male bison (male buffalo) as his hobby. After watching from all colourful days, now Jumo and Venu lived togather. Venu name seemed strange but When Jumo had luxurious life, he had many friends. One of them kept the name Venu for  that bison. Jumo had much wealth , fell again became beggar, In the broken hut ,his all things scatterd. There were three hut. One of them Venu tied,
There was a door between them, from it Owner and servant sat looking each other whole day. In the third hut there were grass for Venu.
    In the early morning , Jumo went out to sell water by putting the big pouch of water made by skin on the back of Venu. The bell of Venu's neck was ringing ,and Jumo was singing. After providing water to every door, Owner and servent came back. Jumo bought few vegetables for him and 'Gadab' ( one kind of grass) for Venu which Venu was eating in the way. This buying is forever. They just did this work. If somebody offers other work, they would not accept it. Jumo had habit of smoking hoko till noon to evening and Venu was moving his ears to remove flies of his ears in the music of smoking. Weather Venu was sleeping by closing eyes or waking ,Owner and servent  watched each other whole day.
    The two friends went outside to walk. they went to roam outside early in the morning. Jumo thought that it was good if Venu graze something. However Venu thought that it is not to good to eat outside everyday. So when Jumo tried to make him eat ,he avoided to eat. In the end Jumo tired and told him, "let's go home, eat at home." Bison ran in the joy of winning by hitting his tail on his back. 
      Jumo tried to stop him by shouting,  " Look, Dont run." but before it Venu was on the way. There was Railway track on its way. By walking , one of the legs Of Venu fit in the track. He tried to remove his legs from it but he failed to do so.
          Jumo arrived and he also tried to removed his dear Venu's leg from track but all useless. Jumo saw two men were going on way from there. He rushed to them and requesed to help him "My animal will go to cut" . Two men refused to help him and suggested to go to track handling person for help. He rushed to the house of that person but returned with the reply of a woman that no man is present in the home. At last he came near Venu and told him, "My friend, brother Venu, we are togather till the end". The train whistles blew, it came closer, running fast. Jumo sat under Venu. When train was very close,next passing from them, Suddenly, Venu throw Jumo outside of the track with hitting his head.
The whole train passed onto the body of Venu. Venu saved Jumo who could only see the pieces of  his dear Venu scattered here and there on the track. With the blood of Venu ,Jumo's clothes looked red.
          Now ,Jumo came everyday to the place where Venu died. He bowed down near one rock in which he believed. He cried , Venu Venu,Venu......
